Sherry Smith, Lauren Agee's mother, filed a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit last year against the three people camping with Agee-her friend Hannah Palmer, Palmer's boyfriend Aaron Lilly and his friend Chris Stout. The three friends were interviewed by police at the time but were not blamed for Agee's death.
They didn't call police to report their missing friend and her body was found by two fisherman hours later. Palmer, Stout and Lilly say they had nothing to do with Agee's death. Smith hired a private detective in February 2016 to investigate after the first police officer to respond to the scene, Chris Yarchuck, told her he didn't agree with the findings of the investigation.
A judge ruled that there was not enough evidence for a wrongful death suit to move forward against Agee's friend Hannah Palmer.
Smith's civil suits against both Stout and Lilly are still pending.
“There is no way that was an accident, I will go to the grave believing that girl was killed, her body was moved and they are hiding the truth,”
Yarchuck told Fox17.
Without Warning ™ – The Lauren Agee Case
When Lauren's body was discovered by 2 fisherman why was it on the opposite side of her assumed accidental fall? With evidence clearly showing the current was going the other way.
Furthermore, where was the path of her fall? There was no indication of any broken foliage, blood trail or even scratches on the body!
Why weren't her belongings collected into evidence and where are they now? A campfire was seen the following night and the last ones to see her alive were freely allowed to return to the crime scene. Although one had a violent history with women.
